Turbine steam condensers

This equipment type is used in power industry to condensate of steam coming out from the turbine.
This is a special heat-exchanger, mostly shell and tube with fixed tube sheets. Its shape is round (for smaller turbines) or box (for large ones). There is a steam subcooling and air suction area inside the specially formed tube bundle (bundles). Condensate tank (cold box) is placed in the shell lower part, while the neck transition piece connecting condenser with turbine is placed in the upper part. Tube side of condenser has usually got cooling water channels with removable cover plates. REFERENCES::
